Jonathan Alder is committed to equipping all students with the skills and knowledge needed to thrive in an ever-changing world. Through our Future Ready initiative, we identified six essential skills and six high-growth industries in our region that will help guide students toward success in college, career, the workforce, or the military.
These skills—Work Ethic, Collaboration, Communication, Problem Solving, Creativity, and Community—stem from our Portrait of a Pioneer vision, ensuring students develop strong personal and professional habits. Additionally, we focus on future-ready industries that align with Ohio’s economic and workforce forecasts, including Construction, Healthcare, Manufacturing, Logistics, Agribusiness, and Technology.
A key part of preparing students for the future is providing hands-on, real-world learning experiences that connect classroom instruction to career pathways. This week, all freshman students attended the Junior Achievement Inspire event at the Ohio Expo Center, where they explored a variety of career options and engaged with industry professionals. This field trip gave students first hand exposure to high-demand fields in our region, allowing them to learn about job opportunities, required skills, and potential career paths. By interacting with local employers, students gained valuable insights into the workforce and were able to begin considering how their interests align with future careers.
Our goal is to provide every student with career awareness and opportunities that build confidence in their future choices. We encourage families to support their children in exploring their passions and talents, ensuring they graduate ready to lead and innovate in their chosen fields. By integrating career-focused experiences like Inspire into our Future Ready initiative, we help students make informed decisions about their educational and professional journeys, setting them up for long-term success.
