If you were fortunate enough to get to a game or see Jonathan Alder Boys Soccer this season, you probably quickly noticed that our team competed at a high level and was one of the top programs in OHSAA Division III Soccer in 2024. The team finished the season at 17-2-1, and fell in overtime of the District Finals to Bishop Watterson which was reported as one of the best games in Central Ohio. Both squads featured many high level players and the game went into overtime where the outcome is decided by whichever team scores first. It’s tough to end a season under that format, but regardless, both teams featured some of the top players in the State.
Our Jonathan Alder Boys Soccer Team had 10 players receive All Conference honors, and many of them also received District level recognition as well. In addition, Fabrizio Fiorini was named the Conference Player of the Year for the second year in a row, the Central District Player of the Year, was also a two-time 1st Team All District selection, tallied over 100 points in his two years at Jonathan Alder, and was named 1st Team All Ohio.
Most recently, more accolades rolled in when Fabrizio was named an All Region selection and as of last week he was selected as a High School All American by the United Soccer Coaches association. Receiving this honor was no surprise to the teammates and coaches who were a part of this run, and many would say he’s possibly the best player we have ever had the opportunity to interact with daily at Jonathan Alder.
Since the season has ended, Fabrizio has been training with the Crew 2 which is their developmental program with hopes to play professional soccer as early as next spring when their season begins. Congratulations to Fabrizio Firoini on an excellent career at Jonathan Alder High School and congratulations to the Boys Soccer team on incredible back to back seasons working together to achieve success.
As a school and community, we are excited for Fabrizio along with his teammates and look forward to following him into the next journey in his career. Remember the name Fabrizio Fiorini and be proud that this young man was a Pioneer and a part of our team leaving a lasting mark on our school and community.
