Sonia Walker

Sonia grew up in northeast Ohio, graduated from Ohio University, and earned her law degree from Capital University. Pausing her career to focus on raising a family, Sonia now works as a civil litigator.
In 2003, Sonia and her family settled in her husband’s hometown of Plain City. For her three children, Sonia wanted the same positive experiences growing up in a small town, and the wealth of opportunities her husband had while attending Jonathan Alder schools.
Her desire to become a school board member arose from her professional experience with school board policies and advocating on behalf of students. Sonia has volunteered as Room Mom in her children’s Plain City Elementary classes, participated in the Athletic Boosters as a Parent Rep, and enjoys attending her children’s sporting events.
