Bill McCartney is a native Plain City resident, and Jonathan Alder graduate (class of 2004). His parents still live in the house he grew up in, and all are proud to call Plain City home. Bill and his wife, Diana, have five children with a 12-year age span, keeping them busy all the time!
Bill's passion is real estate. He owns rental properties, has rehabbed many homes, and is currently working on a local historical treasure: bringing life back to the Daniel Bigelow family home, one of the first houses in Plain City that served as both home and medical office back in the 1830’s.
The School Board seemed like a natural fit for Bill and he came on in 2019. He loves that he has “skin in the game” with one child currently at Canaan Middle School, two at Plain City Elementary, and two who will be joining their siblings in school shortly. He is so excited to be part of the process of being a school board member and having a hand in bettering the Plain City education landscape.
Community outreach and bringing the community together, even when people disagree, are central goals for Bill. He is fond of his days as the senior class president at JA High School, where he did the same thing amongst his classmates. He's excited to have that synergy at the school board level.
